“Witch Story Do You Believe?”

This is the time of the year when farmers reap the harvest of their hard labors. It is a time of the year when  a different shade of beauty and grandeur overtake the canvas of God’s creation. Through the years of tradition, it is also a time to count our blessings and reflect on all that God has provided and performed on our behalf. We draw close to family, loved ones and even a few less fortunate to celebrate Thanksgiving. However, the years of tradition have also brought us another holiday celebrated by many…even Christians. The Bible says that we perish for a lack of knowledge. Some people do not want knowledge or revelation because then we are held accountable for what we know to be right. It almost always requires a personal change or a higher degree of self-discipline. God did give us the gift of free will or choice. Just because we may choose to reject a truth does not compromise the validity of that truth. I would like to share with you some truths about the origin of Halloween. Should we, as Christians, really be celebrating this holiday? I have been sharing with you about God’s plan for living life and for family. So, let us approach this holiday from the perspective of what God says and then you can make an educated decision. If what I am sharing with you is the truth based on God’s word, He will reveal it to you. If it is not, He will not let it be to your detriment. This is just some of what God has to say about it:

I Thess. 5:28   Abstain from every form of evil.

2 Timothy 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear but of power and love and of a sound mind.

Psalms 34:14   Depart from evil and do good: seek peace and pursue it.

Deuteronomy 30:19  I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both you and your descendants may live.

John 10:10  The thief does not come but to kill, steal and destroy. I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly.

Ephesians 6:12   For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.

2 Corinthians 6:17  Come out from among them, and be separate says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.

Psalms 5:4  For you are not a God who takes pleasure in wickedness; nor shall evil dwell with you.

3 John 1:11   Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God: but he who does evil has not seen God.

Ephesians 5:8,11  For you were once in darkness, but now are you light in the Lord. Walk as children of light. Have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, BUT RATHER EXPOSE THEM!

Halloween originated with the Celtics and it was celebrated to commune with the dead and was considered the turning of their new year. Bon fires were lit to wart off the spirits of the dead. During this celebration, people wore costumes of animal skins and heads to disguise themselves from the demons and unearthly beings that roamed the earth on that night. They told fortunes by examining the remains of sacrificed animals and humans, often children and infants. The Celtic priests celebrated the eve of the Celtic year on Oct. 31 in honor of the demonic pagan god Samhain. Satanists still believe that satan’s power is at its highest on this day. God described every aspect of satanic worship and celebration and commanded that we were to set ourselves apart. He acknowledges that it is real and of the devil. Now I know that some contend, ” it is just some innocent fun for the family…”. There is nothing fun about it. Every aspect of it symbolizes satanic worship, demonic activity, conjuring up the dead, evil and death.

Deut. 18:10-14 (KJV)

10.There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter or witch, or a charmer or consulter of familiar spirits, or a wizard or necromancer. (Websters dict.: conjuring up the spirits of the dead in order to have insight to the future).12. For all that do these things are an abomination to the Lord thy God: and because of these abominations, the Lord thy God doeth drive them out before thee. 13. Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God. 14.  For these nations which thou shalt possess hearkened unto observers of the times; BUT as far as thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee to do so.

Friends, I am sharing all of this, not to put condemnation on anyone, but to help you make an educated choice. This will affect everyone you come in contact with. God is serious about the origin of these practices and says that we should not partake in any of it. I have witnessed, first hand, the testimony of a woman who was in a satanic religion in years past. She sacrificed her own infant to become a high priestess in that pagan religion. She told of the many things they do to target Christian marriages, families and children. Now, we are not supposed to fear these things…greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world. God gave us dominion over those things in the name of Jesus!

You may say, “well at least there is nothing wrong with doing a little trick or treating”. Actually, that also originated with the same people. It was originally to wart off and appease evil spirits that roamed the earth on that night. As the Catholic church progressed over the years, people began playing pranks on each other. This later progressed to vandalism and worse. Residents and business owners would basically “treat” or bribe them into not incurring damage or harm. Does even one part of this sound like it originated with God. Is any of this going to promote peace or health in your life or the lives of your loved ones? There are only two sources for everything to come from…God or satan. Whose stamp is on the holiday in question?

Why would we as parents, strive to be sacrificial, nurturing and loving to our most prized possessions in life all to carelessly subject it then to satanic and demonic influence?! They are gifts to us from God and are special in His sight. Our children will then meditate and ponder these things in their idle time and thought long after the event. Then, we sometimes wonder why they act like they are driven by another force. Sometimes they are! Sometimes we let “apparently innocent” garbage into our homes via the media, friends and even traditions. Christians, I encourage you to seek knowledge of the truth concerning these things and take a stand for what is right in the sight of the Lord. “What if our peers don’t like it”? SO WHAT! As long as God is satisfied with us….nothing else matters. Friends, be a witness to the goodness and power of God. Do not conform to the ways of the world. Seek out and establish your own alternative event. The world needs answers and deliverance and accountability starts in the house of God. Take a stand and make a difference. God bless you all!
